About
Growing up in southern Brazil, Rafael was immersed in an ocean of rhythms and melodies from an early age. Listening to the large drum sections of samba schools during carnival as a child, African and Caribbean beats on family trips across the continental-sized country, mixed with 90's rock and the electronic music of the early 2000's resulted in a broad musical palette. After some time living in Europe, Rafael has made a home in California where he's been performing and teaching since 2014.
